Dental implants help you reclaim a full, satisfying, and confident life after tooth loss. No other tooth replacement option provides the same secure fit, looks more natural or lasts longer. Take proper care of your implants and they can give you decades of reliable performance.

The last adult teeth to erupt—generally starting around the late teens—wisdom teeth are prone to problems. They can cause pain and press on adjacent healthy teeth, making them become misaligned. Because of their location and angle, they’re difficult to clean, meaning more likely to develop decay. We generally recommend wisdom tooth removal for our patients.

Having few healthy teeth left or no teeth at all make important aspects of daily life—speaking and eating—a true challenge. As board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons, we have the training and the tools to completely rebuild your smile with full mouth dental implants and a combination of other treatments. Full function. Full confidence. You can even have your new teeth placed and restored with temporaries within a single appointment!

Your comfort during treatment has always been and remains our top priority. As oral surgeons we’re certified to administer IV sedation to keep you pain- and anxiety-free while under our care. Though you’re able to respond to commands, IV sedation puts you in a sleeplike state during which you won’t feel or remember anything. You’ll return to full consciousness quickly after your procedure.

While some tooth pain can be alleviated by clearing inner decay and placing a filling, some teeth can’t be treated. We always attempt to preserve your original adult teeth, but we perform tooth extractions when necessary. This involves loosening the tooth and carefully pulling it free of the socket with forceps. Unless it’s a wisdom tooth or is causing overcrowding, we generally recommend that you replace an extracted tooth with a dental implant.

Your jawbone relies upon stimulation from regular chewing and the presence of tooth roots to remain healthy. When a lost tooth isn’t replaced, the bone underneath the gap can deteriorate. Through a procedure called bone grafting our team can restore lost jawbone and make you a candidate for dental implants. This involves placing new bone material in the areas of recession. Eventually the bone grafts will fuse with the existing bone.

The pointed teeth at either end of your front row of teeth, known as canines, are important for normal dental functioning and esthetics. If they don’t erupt properly, they can cause problems for growing children. In collaboration with your orthodontist, we can help those impacted canines along by exposing and then attaching brackets and chains to them. This process can be completed in an hour or less and we’ll keep your child comfortable throughout.

Whether from facial injury or genetics, your jaw may need corrective surgery to reach balance and restore function. Jaw surgery can alleviate difficulties eating, speaking, or breathing that cannot be corrected through non-surgical means. With specialized surgical and medical training, our oral and maxillofacial surgeons are able to not only treat your jaw, but you as a whole. Trust our team to provide the transformative care your jaw, and your life, need.

A sudden injury to your face can be shocking and painful. We provide prompt, compassionate facial trauma treatment for a variety of injuries to the mouth and face to make you feel and look like yourself again. We can provide treatment in our office or, when needed, at one of the local hospitals where we’re on staff.

Your TMJ, or temporomandibular joints, are the hinges that enable you to open and close your mouth. When the TMJ becomes misaligned, you may experience headaches, jaw pain, and infections in the ears or sinuses. We can identify these alignment problems and correct them by providing you with customized mouthguards/splints or by performing corrective jaw surgery.

Sleep apnea is more than snoring; it’s a chronic condition that can cause you to stop breathing multiple times during sleep. This is due to soft tissues collapsing onto your airway. Through orthognathic jaw surgery we can adjust your jawbone’s shape and position to prevent that from happening again and allow you to get a good night’s rest.

Part of the services we provide is an oral pathology exam or cancer screening. We examine your mouth carefully for signs of anything unusual, and if we find any growths or masses, we remove them and perform an in-house biopsy to look for harmful cells. We can then either treat you or refer you to a physician if necessary.

If you have too many wrinkles or too little cheek and lip tissue for your liking, we can help. Using BOTOX and dermal fillers such as JUVÉDERM we can make those facial wrinkles disappear and give your lips and face a fuller, more youthful appearance. These proven cosmetic dentistry treatments can take years off your face.
